Two years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Sue Stuedle of Mango Moon and Dale Yarns at the National NeedleArts Association (TNNA). After seeing some of the samples of swing-style knitting I had with me, she remarked how much fun it would be to have me teach at one of their annual retreats.
Tah-dah! I will be teaching at the event this year in Petosky, MI at the historic Perry Hotel.
It has been both challenging and exciting to develop two new patterns for Mango Moon and Dale Yarns to debut at the retreat, scheduled Sunday, September 27th through Thursday, October 1st, 2015. Here’s a sneak peek at the two designs.
SwingKnits(R) "Trifecta Scarf"
Utilizing the beautiful woven scarf from the Mango Moon collection and their coordinating yarns, this project is fun, fun, fun! The uniqueness of the color ways available make for a very special, one-of-a-kind project. The possibilities are endless!
SwingKnits(R) Felted Messenger Bag (prior to felting)
The color selection of Dale Yarns lend themselves to countless combinations. The blooming bougainvillea in South Florida were the inspiration of the bag’s colors. However, more subtle shades can be combined for a conservative look.
After the knitted components, the rectangular fabric and the handle, are assembled, the bag is felted. The size lends itself to carry a computer or documents, as well as the typical necessities like a wallet, phone, and more yarn.
